Pacific Northwest LNG Could Threaten Salmon Hub
According to Science, Pacific Northwest and related pipelines at the mouth of the Skeena River in northern B.C. would threaten more than 40 different salmon populations harvested by 10 First Nations territories. The surrounding waters where the proposed pipeline project would be located are defined as “the Grand Central Station” for millions of salmon, says Allen Gottesfeld of the Skeena Fisheries Commission. Further, the pipeline proposal neglects to mention nearly half the First Nations needing to be consulted.
