600-MW Gemini Wind Farm in The Netherlands Will Be World’s Largest

The Netherlands has announced plans to build a 600-megawatt wind farm, the world’s largest, on an offshore site known for its high wind speeds. When the Gemini project is complete, it will generate enough electricity to serve 1.5 million users and reduce carbon pollution by 1.25 million tonnes. Rotors for the 150 turbines will be placed 150 metres above sea level, making the structures taller than Europe’s highest office building. (h/t EPE Electric Power Engineering [1])
