U.S. Interior Secretary Approves Utility-Scale Solar Project on Tribal Land
The 200-megawatt Moapa Solar Energy Center Project in Nevada received a green light from U.S. Interior Secretary Sally Jewell. The project “will generate enough electricity to power 60,000 homes and will create hundreds of jobs and additional income for the tribe,” she said. The PV plant, located about 20 miles northeast of Las Vegas, will create 500 jobs during peak construction.
